Finchley Central station shut and offices evacuated after reports of 'suspicious vehicle' found near

HUNDREDS of people have been evacuated after a suspicious vehicle was reported in north London.

Met Police rushed to Ballard Lane in Finchley Central about 10am after receiving the frightening reports, but have since said officers were stood down.

British Transport Police have confirmed the tube station was closed, with a number of offices in the area also evacuated.

Those evacuated in the scare shared photographs of the crowds.

Henry Joseph-Grant said: "Never seen so many emergency service vehicles in my life really hope its a false alarm & gets resolved".

Met Police have since told The Sun Online that the incident was stood down with the vehicle found not to be suspicious.

The cordon was lifted about 10.45am.
