CORNWALL has been hit by an earthquake with residents woken up by "rumbles" reporting that their houses were left "shaking".
The earthquake happened around 9.3km south of Redruth at 6.31am this morning and was confirmed by VolcanoDiscovery.
Although its magnitude is said to be "unknown", the depth of the earthquake was 10km.
