Shoppers are rushing to buy M&S chocolate carrot for Easter... but they all have the same complaint

SHOPPERS have rushed to buy M&S's new Easter chocolate carrot - but have all been left with the same complaint.

Stunned customers joked that the new product may have been more appropriate for Valentine's Day given its shape.

Many felt that the carrot, which is made from golden blond chocolate and coated in edible gold leaf, looked ruder than the high-street giant might have intended.

Announcing the item on its social media page, M&S wrote: "So, who's ready to start talking about Easter? Introducing our new eggs-ellent '23 carrot gold' egg!

"Made from golden blond chocolate before being coated in edible gold leaf, this treat comes complete with salted caramel-filled chocolate bunny ears."

However, viewers were left amused by the slightly racy shape of the 'carrot'.

One commenter quipped: "Who on Earth thought that 'carrot' was a good idea? Are you certain it isn't a Valentine's 'top shelf' item?"

Another joked: "Looks rather phallic to me."

A third wrote: "Ha ha, this looks so rude, I love it though."

Some, however, were less impressed with the product and didn't see the funny side.

It seems, though, that this was mainly down to the store's use of the word "egg".

One shopper fumed: "An 'egg'? Your definition of 'egg' is obviously different to mine - will be giving this one a miss..."

Another raged: "It is a carrot. It is not an Easter Egg. Easter FAIL."

Overall, though, the mood was probably best summed up when one customer commented: "Slightly weird, but yes, I'll go for that!"
